19th Nov, Wednesday: City of Lights Parade in Truro
This is an annual procession through the town which also incorporates the Christmas lights being switched on. It also marks the start of late night shopping and there is a firework display on Lemon Quay.

Promising an array of seasonal treats including Christmas lights and decorations, Santa’s grotto, fireworks, seasonal food, festive demonstrations and late night shopping.
16th – 21st Dec, week: Montol Festival
The Penzance Montol Festival is a 6-day arts and community festival based on the Cornish Christmas and Midwinter traditions of the past, culminating in Montol Eve on the 21st December.
24thDec, Monday: Harmony Choir
Commencing at the Watersports Centre and proceeding through the town stopping at Church Corner, Nat West Bank, end of Market Street /Market Strand and finishing up on The Moor.

Held on the large showground between Truro and Helston where thousands descend to enjoy musical entertainment, food courts, craft stalls, a fairground, and animals of all sorts including rare breeds, a dog show and dog agility competitions. 2014 dates are subject to confirmation.

Falmouth Sea Sunday
20th July
An important date in the Civic calendar that recognises the Towns rich Maritime traditions and in particular the strong naval links. The parade consisting of the Royal Naval Association, Standard Bearers, Town Councillors and other organisations march from The Moor at 10:20 am to the Parish Church for a Service at 11 am then reforms following the service and marches to the National Maritime Museum via the sailing base alongside Trago Mills.

28th - 31st AugustPhoto: Stavros S. Niarchos is the first new tall ship built in Britain for over twelve years and at 59m is the maximum size for a brig, the smallest of the square rigs. The ship is named after a Greek businessman and sailor who died in 1996. We look forward to seeing her in Falmouth Waters next August.

The sight of white sail tips cresting the horizon of Falmouth Bay will herald a landmark moment in history when Falmouth, Cornwall and Royal Greenwich, London will together host one of the biggest international sailing events in solely English waters.

Over 35 Tall Ships from around the world will arrive in Falmouth for three days of festivities from 28th to 30th August before the race start on the 31st. The whole town will be involved in a packed programme of shore side activities and events.

On Sunday 31st August, the Tall Ships will pass between Henry VIII’s twin Tudor castles of Pendennis and St Mawes in a magnificent Parade of Sail to the start line in Falmouth Bay. They then head eastwards en route to the finish line just off the Isle of Wight. The ships will continue to London, sailing up the iconic River Thames to the finish port of Royal Greenwich, where they will enjoy a further five days of celebrations.
