Tall Ships in Falmouth 2014
The sight of white sail tips cresting the horizon of Falmouth Bay will herald a landmark moment in history when Falmouth, Cornwall and Royal Greenwich, London will together host one of the biggest international sailing events in solely English waters.
Over 40 Sail Training vessels from around the world, including a number of magnificent Tall Ships, will arrive in Falmouth for four days of festivities from 28th to 30th August before the race start on the 31st.
The whole town will be involved in a packed programme of shore side entertainment, activities and events, most of which will be free of charge. Visitors will be able to go on board and explore the large Tall Ships berthed in Falmouth Docks (dependant on tides).
On Sunday 31st August, the Tall Ships will pass between Henry VIII’s twin Tudor castles of Pendennis and St Mawes in a spectacular Parade of Sail to the start line off Falmouth Bay. They then head eastwards en route to the finish line just off the Isle of Wight. The ships will continue to London, sailing up the iconic River Thames to the finish port of Royal Greenwich, where they will enjoy a further five days of celebrations.
Dolvean House offers a 5-night special for you to enjoy this special atmosphere.
Please enquire soon as places will be quickly booked.
The Tall Ships Special cannot be combined with our Offer 'Stay7-Pay 6'. Any 7seven days which contain the dates 27th August to 1st September apply to full payment.
