Padstow 'Obby 'Oss Day  Thursday 1st May
The origins of this traditional celebration are lost in the midst of time but it is thought to celebrate the arrival of Spring and may even be an ancient fertility festival.  www.padstow.com 

Helston Flora Day  Thursday 8th May
"Dancing here, prancing there, jigging, jogging everywhere"  To the beat of the big base drum, elegant gentlemen and their ladies dance in and out of Churches, shops and houses.

The start of the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta. Some of the largest tall ships afloat, plus many smaller ones. Ship tours, day sails, street markets, concerts, fireworks etc.

Falmouth Oyster Festival    Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th October

Truro City of Lights   Late November /early December - Date  yet to be announced. 
Lanterns made of willow and tissue paper are paraded through the streets of Truro, creating a  spectacle of light.
