Covid-19

DOLVEAN HOUSE                                          Currently we are closed until 12.04.22

Covid-19 update:    This will be updated prior to 12th April 2022

Good To Go England 300x300 - Covid-19

Further to the recent government announcements on the final lifting of lockdown measures on the 19th July, we have considered our options and wish to remain cautious for the foreseeable future.   We will therefore maintain the measures we have adopted over the past few months.

The virus is still out there and will be well after the 19th July.
We feel this is important not only to protect you our guests and friends, but also ourselves and our business.

Therefore we politely ask our visitors to take note of the continued measures and be aware of how this will change our usual service until further notice:

  • On arrival you will find hand sanitizer at the front door and we kindly ask you to use some before entering and also ask you to wear face masks within the public areas of the house at all times.
  • The check-in procedure will be socially distant, and we will show you the way to your room.
  • You will also find hand sanitizer in your room for you to use during your stay.
  • We continue to operate our business at a reduced occupancy level to maintain a safe level of social distancing within our breakfast room.
  • Our guest lounge area will remain closed. This is our bubble for private use.

Room Service

During your stay there will be minimal room service, except for emptying of waste bins and replenishment of your beverage tray. For longer stays of a week or more we will change your sheets and towels on the third or fourth day.  All our laundry is hired and supplied from South West Laundry where they wash our linen at 72 degrees C, ironed at 180 deg or is dried at 100 C,  nothing survives that.

Breakfast.

With socially distant tables in our breakfast room we aim to offer a near normal breakfast service with continental and or a Full cooked Cornish choice. Our breakfast buffet will not be on display,  Please do not help yourself to anything from the buffet area, but all items can be ordered from the kitchen staff and brought to your table.  Yes, it is a little more labour intensive, but it helps to keep me fit. We do not offer breakfast in your room. If you have any requests or special dietary requirements, then help us to help you and do let us know prior to your arrival.

During your visit to Falmouth

Many of our local restaurants are open for business, https://www.falmouth.co.uk/eat-drink/, however, most of them like us will have restrictions and do require require a booking in advanced to be sure of a table. Please do plan ahead of your trip, a little research in advance of what you enjoy will make your time here in Falmouth much more pleasant.  If all else fails, you are welcome to bring back a take-away to the house, but we do ask that you eat any hot food in our breakfast room and not in your bedroom. We just ask for a little bit of notice so we can prepare a table for you.

Also, museums, gardens other family attractions may require a pre booked ticket to help manage social distancing. Again, please do a little research and plan ahead.  Of course, there are plenty of things to do that do not need pre booking such as our beautiful coastal footpaths, our local shops and galleries to browse around and our lovely beaches.

In case of Covid-19

Coronavirus is still out there, and no doubt will be for some time to come.
All we ask of you is, if you develop any symptoms prior to your stay please let us know immediately. We are very understanding people and it would be better to cancel your booking rather than chancing it. Should you develop symptoms which are proved to be positive covid-19 during your stay, we will follow government guidance and request that you return home to self-isolate in your own house and seek help from your own local medical centre. Once you have checked in, you will be liable for the total cost of your booking and should you be unable to return home and need to self-isolate in our house any additional nights that may be required you will also be liable for. In addition there may be costs uncured for any inconveniences caused to other guests staying.

In the unfortunate circumstances that due to a national or regional lock down is required to help control the spread of coronavirus your booking may have to be cancelled beyond our control ( force majeure ) in which case no charges will be made and any deposits paid will be returned or credited to a future booking..

Should we find that someone within our household show symptoms and or be tested positive for covid-19 whilst you have been staying with us, we will use your contact details given to us at the time of booking to get in touch with you as required by the NHS track and trace scheme.

Should you have any questions or concerns please do get in touch.
