Traditional Cornish May Day Celebrations including the famous ‘Furry Dance’. 7am to 7 pm, Morning Dance : 7 am from the Guildhall, The Hal-an-Tow : 8:30 am at St John’s Bridge, The Children’s Dance : 9:40 am from Wendron Street, The Midday Dance : 12 noon from the Guildhall, The Evening Dance : 5 pm from the Guildhall

This fantastic 10 day festival is a not-for-profit community festival which encompasses over 150 events varying from music & drama, the arts & heritage to gig racing, swimming, walking & lots more. The festival was established in 2006 and will be running for its 12th year in 2017. It’s a chance to embrace the places, people, history, culture, sport & industry that are connected by this very Cornish river.

This is a three day event that showcases the best that Cornwall has to offer in farming, food, livestock and much more. Royal Cornwall Show Ground, Wadebridge.

Castle to Castle Swim  TBC
The Castle to Castle Swim is a one mile open water sea swim across the mouth of the River Fal. The swim starts at Pendennis Castle in Falmouth and finishes at St Mawes Castle on the Roseland Peninsula. Details will be updated on our events page:

Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival    www.falmouthseashanty.co.uk/
Usually the largest free maritime music festival on the planet! Shanty bands and singers from across the UK and Europe converge on Falmouth, bringing a wonderfully diverse range of shanties performed on stages throughout the town.  Sadly due to the uncertainty concerning coronavirus, the festival has been cancelled for this year and a virtual festival will take place on the 19th June. Money raised will go to the RNLI.

Venue: Offshore
Building on the success of expanding to a three-day event, Falmouth Classics have now been able to bring the competitors together in one area in close proximity to the Sea Shanty Festival. Thanks to National Ventilation and Airtech Environmental Systems together with Falmouth Harbour Commissioners, berthing will be free for visiting competitors, putting Falmouth in the top league alongside other major classic regattas.

Held on the large showground between Truro and Helston where thousands descend to enjoy musical entertainment, food courts, craft stalls, a fairground, and animals of all sorts including rare breeds, a dog show and dog agility competitions. 2014 dates are subject to confirmation.

August 2021

Venue: On the water and various locations around the town. Six days of match racing for keelboats, traditional craft and dinghies in the waters off Falmouth Bay, the Carrick Roads and the harbour. Wednesday is Champagne Day, a race for the big yachts with a 25-mile coastal course finishing in the inner harbour, whilst smaller boats race in the Carrick Roads. On the shore there are activities to keep everyone entertained from the fantastic Red Arrows display (TBC) and themed party nights to samba and the Action Sports Tour Bike Show. In Events Square there are daytime events such as Science in The Square by the University of Exeter, while in the evening you’ll find a great line up of music acts. Cornish Steam and Country Fair,     TBC
Stithians, Largest steam rally in the South West with over 50 full size steam engines plus stationary and scale steam engines, old time fairground, a large selection of vintage vehicles, cycles, stationary engines, heavy horses and more.

The annual festival is showcasing the best food and drink that Cornwall has to offer. Held in Truro on Lemon Quay.

Venue: Events Square and The Moor
The highlight of Falmouth’s Autumn calendar is this nationally recognised, award-winning annual festival which celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season. Including an oyster bar, a wide variety of seafood, wines and champagne, real ales and stouts, arts, crafts, food and drink halls, chef demos and all that is best in Cornish musical entertainment.

Princess Pavilion: Try a hose of real cask ales and ciders at this year’s CAMRA event. Around 200 ales, ciders and perries to choose from.
